An Abundant Life

John 10:7-10

Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

This is our 4th full day in El Salvador living an abundant life!!!! We have been out at the Word of Life camp working,  as Ashley posted last night,  and now we are back in San Salvador where we are staying and having a day of rest so I thought it was a good time to reflect and write! I cannot express the joy that comes from joining in with the others who have a similar desire to enter into the fold and allow Jesus to completely take over and direct and lead everything about  all the daily activities! Our days at the camp began with getting up about 5:30 to the men cheering for their favorite football (soccer) team as they watch the World Cup and the women prepare the breakfast and watch the game as well.  Argentina was playing yesterday against Korea and what an uproar in the living room when they scored a goal! You did not need an alarm clock!!! After breakfast and football we went out to do our assigned jobs to get the camp ready for a group of visitors from  Georgia that is coming to do a medical mission here next week.  Today we will receive instructions as to how we will be serving the group that is coming, Also we are having play practice for an outreach we are doing at an orphanage  that cares for children with aids.

We have been made to feel so welcome here  – just as if we have always been a part of the sheep in this pasture! After all our Shepherd is the same whether we are serving Him in the US or here is El Salvador and we are truly blessed to be living an abundant life!! The thief that often comes to steal valuable time by uneccessary distractions is not nearly as noticeable here as at home so we are able to accomplish much more!

I am having trouble figuring out how to download the pictures from my camera so maybe tonight we will have time for someone to show me! Thank you to all of you who are praying for us and for the lives of those that we will be able to touch this coming week for the Lord!

Serving with Joy,

Linda

Beautiful blog sis, glad you are keeping busy, plus having time to rest. Does your camera have an SD card, if so and the computer you are using has an SD slot you can upload your pics that way. If not and you don’t have a USB cable for the camera, not sure what you can do. Mikey can tell much better than I can. Stay cool. Love you lots!

      Hey Baby!

So good to get your note! We are just getting back from the camp helping a medical missions team all week visiting the really poor in very remote parts of the country – we also got to go to an orphanage with children with HIV. God has really blessed Jeff with work to cover the bills at home while I am gone so I could not ask for anything more!!!! God is so great and beyond any thing I could ever imagine!!! Love you – you need to be on facebook again so you can see the pictures I post there! Hope all is well with you – give my love to the m NEMS crew!
