Under His Wings

The women from Santiago de Maria with Glenda

Ruth 2:12 May the LORD repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”

The womens conference is over for this year but the memories of it will live in our hearts forever.  For two weeks all of us women in the ministry gathered at the office each morning  to prepare the many items needed for the big day. There was also a lot of running around to get the banners, flowers and countless other little items including one shopping trip for shoes.

All three of our speakers arrived safely from Mexico. Hirma and Betty came a little early and Maricela arrived the day before. We had a great night getting to know one another over pizza at Papa Johns.

Finally Saturday arrived and we left the office at 6:15 to go to the florist to get the flowers and then on the church to begin setup for the day. Everything went very smooth and we were ready on time for our guests to arrive. The day was magical. Even though I still don’t always understand what is being said because I am still learning the language I could see the looks on the women’s faces and I knew that the word of God being shared during the day was touching many hearts. We had a wonderful lunch and two snack breaks that the women enjoyed. By the end of the day we were tired but satisfied that the mission was completed to the Lord’s satisfaction. The theme of the conference for this year was Confidence in a Time of Crisis. It was a time of getting under His wings and learning how to stay there when the storm rolls in.

The storm did roll in for our main speaker Hirma. Her sister died while Hirma was on her way back to Mexico. I couldn’t help but think that all the hours she spent preparing in God’s word to give courage to other women facing storms that the Lord was pouring into her as well to face the loss of someone she loved that she was so close to. The Lord knows our needs long before those times come in our lives and He is faithful to give us every thing we need before and during  those dark times we all will experience as long as we are here on this earth.Monday we all piled into the ministry van and were taken to one of the most beautiful resorts I have ever been to. We got to spend more time with Hirma, Betty and Maricela and each other. We played in the ocean, gathered shells and had a wonderful lunch and just a great time together – just us girls!

Yes the conference is over for this year but we are already talking about next year and looking forward, if the Lord delays His return, to being together again and sharing all the wonderful ways that the Lord has provided for  us throughout the year.

The verse at the top of the page from the book of Ruth was the verse that was written on the gift given to Hirma at the conference. Please remember her in prayer and thank God for the shelter He gives us under His wings! Also please pray for Glenda who is having surgery tomorrow and for my sister as she recovers from her surgery.

Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with His feathers,
and under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

Under His wing,

Linda

    Sis, it sounds wonderful, all of it. So happy everything went well. You all look so beautiful and happy. I am especially happy, (and jealous) that you got to romp in the ocean and collect shells. Sending love. ❤
