The Door!

John 10:9 I am the door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out and find pasture.

The boy in the blue shirt became my little brother in Christ yesterday. His name is Roberto and he followed me around the whole time we were at his school yesterday afternoon and kept dragging other people over to meet me. He asked me how to say many many words in English and would laugh and giggle when I pronounced them for him. We had so much fun in the brief time we had together and I may never see him again in this world but I will see him again one day in heaven……  Jesus came knocking on the door to his heart yesterday and He invited Him in! Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

So we see by these scriptures that Jesus IS the door that leads to eternal life, Jesus KNOCKS on the door to our heart to open our lives to Him and invite Him in and in Colossians it tells us that God OPENED the door and allowed us to go and share His word – Colossians 4:3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.

God also describes the entryway into heaven as a narrow door in Matthew 7:13-14

Matthew 7:13 Go in by the narrow door; for wide is the door and open is the way which goes to destruction, and great numbers go in by it. (BBE)

Matthew 7:14 For narrow is the door and hard the road to life, and only a small number make discovery of it.

Yesterday was the chance God gave these boys and girls to enter into that door and to continue walking all their days in the narrow way that leads to life. No, it is not the popular way and many people reject it and continue on the broad path that leads to death. This makes my heart so sad but then again I look into the faces of the ones who say yes and I can see the life of God enter into them and be reflected in their eyes and know their lives have been forever changed – this is what I choose to focus on and leave the rest to our precious Lord and pray He gives the ones who reject Him another opportunity!

Here you can see the reaction of the kids when we offered then a pamphlet with God’s word to read about their decision and to share with others! They were so hungry and happy  for the things of God and this is a perfect example of how He tells us we must enter His kingdom as little children – hungry for Him and for His word and the things He has for us.

None of our activities are possible without Him. He tells us in Revelation 3:8 I know your works, See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept my word, and have not denied My name.

First we must have a little strength, have kept His word and not denied His name and then we have the practical things to deal with… we must call schools to see which doors He will open. On this trip we had 6 presentations in 4 different school in 2 days. Then we need to pray for His provision which in this case was provided by a brother in Christ who gave an offering of $100 for outreach. Taking 14 people in a big van three hours away costs about $70.00 in gas to go and return home. Gas is about $4.50 per gallon here now. That left us with about $30.00 to cover food expenses for 14 for  two days. And by the grace of God we were never hungry! He provided for us in many different ways and we came home still having a bag of sweet bread that never seemed to get empty! He also provided a place for us to sleep out of the weather which is rainy these days. We slept on the floor on mattresses we brought along in a church that we visited. Dry, warm and safe. Last but not least we pray for open hearts to receive the word. God granted all of our requests and this outing was a wonderful trip for us and over 2400 young people and teachers heard His word. Over 1000 claimed to receive Christ as their savior and a little over 400 rededicated their lives to His service. For the others it was an opportunity to hear the Gospel and we pray that God will be merciful and give them another chance to open the door of their heart.

He is the Door, He knocks on the Door and He opens the Door! This is the God we serve and there is no other!!!!

Luke 11:10 For every one who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, the door shall be opened.

Praising God today for doors!

Under His wing,
